Potassium clavulanate in this medicine is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Bacteria cause the formation of beta-lactamase enzymes that affects the activity of amoxycillin. Potassium clavulanate inhibits the activity of the beta-lactamase enzymes and helps in increasing the efficiency of amoxycillin against bacterial infections.
