General Uses of Ascoril LS Syrup

Ascoril LS syrup is a combination of three medicine and is generally prescribed in treating wet/Productive cough.

It helps in thinning or breaking down the mucus in the lungs, nose, and makes it easier to breathe.

It can also be used in symptoms like wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness due to Bronchospasm, COPD, Bronchitis, Bronchial asthma.

Ingredients of Ascoril LS Syrup

Ambroxol: Ascoril LS syrup contains Ambroxol(30mg). Ambroxol is a class of drugs known as Mucolytic. It helps in breaking the thick mucus and makes it easier to cough out.

Levosalbutamol: This Syrup contains Levosalbutamol(1mg/5ml). Levosalbutamol is a class of medicine known as a bronchodilator. It is generally prescribed in treating symptoms related to COPD(Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and bronchospasm like wheezing, coughing, and breathlessness.

Ascoril LS syrup is a combination of three medicine. The Ambroxol in this syrup is a Mucolytic. It works by depolymerizing mucopolysaccharides directly and by liberating lysosomal enzymes. This leads to the breaking of Mucus and makes it easier to cough out.

Levosalbutamol in this syrup is a Beta-2 Selective agonist. It causes Bronchodilation by stimulating the β2 receptors and increase cAMP formation in Bronchial muscle cells. This leads to the relaxation of muscles in the airways and makes breathing easier.

The Guaifenesin in this syrup is an Expectorant/Bronchial secretion enhancer. It works by stimulating the secretory glands and increase respiratory fluid production. This in result reduces the stickiness and decreases the viscosity of the mucus, which facilitates its removal by coughing.
